Smiley face      Why should we choose Microsoft Dynamics CRM instead of salesforce.com?

Question       With Microsoft Dynamics CRM, your CRM application works right inside Microsoft Outlook and integrates seamlessly to Microsoft Word and Excel meaning that you don’t have to leave the applications that you are already familiar with and probably spend most of your day in already. This integration coupled with the very familiar user interface and experience means that there is very little ramp up time to learn a new application. You also have the ability to either move the solution out of “the cloud” so it is installed within your own office or alternatively change the hosting service provider to one that suits your specific requirements. Microsoft Dynamics CRM utilises common development tools like web services, SQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, Windows Workflow Foundation, and more. So we suggest you should keep your options open and go with the team that spends over $2 billion a year in R&D and product advancement.

General MicroChannel Hosted CRM Questions

Question      What does MicroChannel Hosted CRM cost?

Answer       Pricing is dependent on the specific service being offered. I.e. for clients that elect to have their own dedicated server environment, pricing is based on the amount of disk space required for each server each month as well as the amount of RAM required for each server each month. Thereafter there is a per user per month fee.

Click here to arrange for one of our sales people to contact you to discuss this further and provide a quote. Alternatively, clients that elect to have their system set up within our secure multi-tenant environment pricing is purely based on a per-user per-month fee of $54.75 ex GST.

Question      How long is the contract?

Answer       There are no contracts, the service is offered on a month to month basis; however clients that pre-pay for 12 months in advance will receive a discount on their subscription

Question      Is there a minimum number of users?

Answer       No.

Question      Do we own our own data?

Answer       Absolutely.

Question      Where is the MicroChannel Hosting datacentre located?

Answer       Our secure datacentre is located in Melbourne, Australia.

Question      What if we want to move on premise or to another provider?

Answer       We'll help. We won't hold you hostage and we won't stop answering the phone when we know you want to move. If you choose to move, you can simply export all of your customisations, custom entities, workflows, and custom reports from the CRM administrator control panel at any time, you can also export records to excel at any time with the click of a button, however, for large databases this might not be practical, as such, for a small handling fee, we will make a backup of your SQL database available that you can restore into another environment for a small handling fee.

Question      How much disk space is included for our MicroChannel Hosted CRM database?

Answer       This is dependent on the specific service being offered. I.e. for clients that elect to have their own dedicated server environment, you can elect how much storage you require. And for clients that elect to have their system set up within our secure multi-tenant environment there is no limit to the amount of space that the database can grow to. In both of these scenarios is means that our clients are never hit with any un-expected storage fees or storage limitations that can potentially cause issues in a growing database.

Question      How often does MicroChannel Hosted CRM backup our data and how long are they stored for?

Answer       Backup schedules vary depending on the specific service that you have subscribed to and customised schedules can be created to suit your specific requirements, however a typical Dedicated Server Environment is backed up on the following basis: backups are done on a number of layers, the first is at the server level where a snap shot is taken of the entire server every night and then kept for 14 days ensuring the ability to do a complete system restore. The second level is at a database level which is done every night and kept for 30 days ensuring the ability to restore to a database if the database became corrupt. And the final level is at a data level. Every hour a snap shot is taken of the data and kept for 2 days to allow for a restore of some data that might have been accidently deleted or overwritten etc.

Question      Does MicroChannel Hosted CRM offer training classes and if so, in what format?

Answer       Yes, we offer FREE live, online, instructor led classes for both users and administrators of all customers. You can also access our training videos here at any time. And finally we can also offer training for your specific requirements either online or in your office with your individual database for an additional fee.

Answer       Across the globe.

Question      Are languages other than English available?

Answer       Yes. MicroChannel Hosted CRM support all languages that are supported by Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Question      Does it matter where my Mail Server sits?

Essentially there is a component of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 called the E-mail Router that can be installed separately which will connect the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system to one or more Exchange Server or POP3 servers for incoming mail and one or more SMTP or Exchange servers for outgoing mail.
